Land’s Edge

25th June to 15th July, 2016
The subject in these evocative paintings is made up of several reference points superimposed together, rather than one single view; making a compilation of layered visual moments which invite the viewer to consider ways in which landscape may be experienced.

Kieran’s experimental use of paint with all its curious touches and surprising textures, conveys a meditative quietness which characterises his work, and links with his imaginative, abstracted responses to landscape to shape a powerful sense of place.

The paintings are expressive, but modest, and not so expressionistic as to disturb the meditative quietness that inhabits all his works. Although abstract, the theme of the object is always present and visible despite its dissolving clarity.
