[UPDATED ON 13th OCTOBER 2020]: We had hoped to reopen in Truro by now but works are taking longer than we had anticipated. Refurbishments continue at the gallery and we look forward to welcoming you all back very soon. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us via email as we are still working away behind the scenes with all our consultancy work.
After the longest hiatus since we opened 21 years ago, I wanted to let you know what has been going on behind the scenes at Lemon Street Gallery since we closed our doors for lockdown and let you know what we have been doing to enable a safe, grand re-opening.
As we speak, refurbishments to the gallery are underway in preparation for your return and, to improve your at-home gallery tour experience, we are also redesigning the website using new technology to include a members’ virtual viewing room. We fully understand that many of our collectors will still prefer to see the real thing so will once again offer you the ability to view particular works at home very soon.
Over at our sculpture garden at Withiel, we’ve been busy hoeing away throughout the spring in the hope that, like the gallery, we can open its doors to you very soon.
And finally, a cause for celebration: the 4th of June marked the gallery’s 21st birthday and to mark the occasion we are planning a set of multi-venue, multi-disciplinary events, details of which will be with you shortly.
From what we have seen, the art market continues to be very active and we have had a huge number of enquiries from all around the world. It has been very reassuring for me to know that the gallery is missed and our artists valued.
On a personal note, thank you, everyone, for all your patience, now, and going forwards. Jason and I look forward to seeing you all again in the coming months.
